L.A. Reid Explains Real Reason For French Montana's Album Delay

by HHL Editors

French Montana's album MC4 was supposed to drop last week.

But it was pulled it so close to the date Target still ended up selling copies of the CD.

French blamed its latest delay on sample clearance.

Due to some sample clearances that are still being worked out, I have to move the album release date. - FM #MC4

However in interview with Rap Radar, French's label boss at Epic L.A. Reid revealed that that was just a cover story.

Instead, the album was pushed back to October 14th because they still "had work to do" and they were trying to give French the success he deserved.

“French is incredible and a beloved artist. And he deserves a moment, a real moment of monster success. And that’s what we’re aiming for. And we didn’t want a calendar to dictate that for us. We want it to really happen organically and naturally," Reid explained.
So basically, nobody was talking about MC4 and they are going to retool and try to get more buzz.

Do you think they will be able to get that buzz with an extra two months?
