Kurupt Explains Why He Wanted No Part of Faith Recording With 2Pac During Biggie Beef

by Daryl Nelson

It's a story that's been told countless times over the years: Faith Evans went to California to record with Tupac Shakur in the height of Pac's beef with Faith's then-husband, The Notorious B.I.G.

But one side of the story that people may not have heard is Kurupt saying he was in the studio when Faith came by.

Tha Dogg Pound rapper spoke about the recording session in a newly released interview with The Art of Dialogue and said he wanted no part of Faith being there.

“She came to work and, you know, we was all looking like, ‘Damn, that’s Faith, cuz’… Then he made ‘Hit ‘Em Up’  that fast," said Kurupt. “She walked in, boom, ‘What’s up, Kurupt?’ I looked. ‘Damn.’ I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m going home. I’m finna go home 'cause this right here? This is real. This is Biggie’s wife with Pac, though. So I’m just gonna go home. I don’t wanna be up here for this, this is a lot' ...  I don’t want Faith to be calling back to New York telling Biggie she saw Kurupt ... ‘Cause Biggie’s my homeboy and ‘Pac is my brother.”

Would you have done the same if you were Kurupt?
