Kevin Gates wanted to quickly follow up his debut album Islah with another  album.

However, his label Atlantic wouldn't allow him to put out two studio albums in less than a year.

Which is good news for his Gates fans because that means more free music in the form of the mixtape Murder For Hire 2.

Gates took to IG last night to announce that Murder for Hire 2 would be dropping Friday (May 27) and to preview snippets from the project.
