Kevin Durant Updates His Fans After Surgery

Kevin Durant did rupture his Achilles in Game Five of the NBA Finals.

In fact, he's already had surgery to repair.

KD jumped on Instagram this afternoon and updated his fans on what's been going down.

"What’s good everybody I wanted to update you all: I did rupture my Achilles. Surgery was today and it was a success, EASY MONEY My road back starts now! I got my family and my loved ones by my side and we truly appreciate all the messages and support people have sent our way. Like I said Monday, I'm hurting deeply, but I'm OK. Basketball is my biggest love and I wanted to be out there that night because that’s what I do," he typed.

The expected recovery time for ruptured Achilles tendon is 9 to 12 months, meaning KD is unlikely to play next year.

Do you think he'll still get a max contract in free-agency? If he doesn't he can always opt back into the final year of his deal with Warriors and get $31 million to rehab.
