Kendrick Lamar is one of the biggest stars in the musical galaxy.
But that certainly wasn't the case back in 2009, when he dropped The Kendrick Lamar EP.
The eighth track on the project was 'I Do This', featuring Jay Rock. It heavily sampled the 1975 Bill Withers song 'Don't You Want To Stay.'
It took a while but the Mattie Music Group, which own the rights to the Withers' song, are suing because Lamar never got permission to use it.
In their filing, the group claims 'I Do This' "consists of nothing more than new rap and hip hop lyrics set to the existing music of 'Don't You Want To Stay.'"
So far no word from K. Dot's camp.
You can listen to both songs below.
