Kenan Thompson Explains Why He Left The Stage During Kanye's 'SNL' Rant

by Daryl Nelson

SNL star Kenan Thompson didn't stick around when Kanye West performed on Saturday Night Live last year and went on a pro-Donald Trump rant

The longtime comedic actor recently stopped by Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning, and at the 7:00 minute mark he explained why he left once Ye started going off.

"I mean, if you're a fan of Hip Hop you know him so you know," said Thompson. "It's a moment in the show where it's, like, sometimes they'll do a last song over the good night credits or whatever. U2 did it, [Paul] McCartney did it, and they actually, like, go to the other stage and get with they band and do a whole performance. When I saw that he was standing on the regular stage I was, like, oh he's just gonna take a moment and have a moment basically."

Kenan then said he chose to watch Ye's rant on his own.

"I think I would like to watch this on TV," he told himself. "And I got lucky because it became extremely uncomfortable extremely quickly. I was also tired as hell, it's a long day. But god bless him, I felt bad."

Are you still a fan of Kanye's music these days or do you associate him more with rants and talking crazy?
