Kanye West's Doctor Says 'Ye Tried To Assault Staff Member

by HHL Editors

We're getting more info on why Kanye West was taken against his will for a psychiatric evaluation.

According to TMZ, Ye's personal doctor Michael Farzam called 911 and warned them that while West wasn't violent at the moment, he would likely become violent when police arrived.

Farzam told the dispatcher his patient's name was "Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5'8", 175 lbs" and that he "suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration."

When the police arrived, Farzam informed them that 'Ye had tried to assault a staff member earlier, so West was restrained when he was taken to UCLA Medical Center.

Police say Dr. Farzam had put 'Ye under a 5150 (involuntary psychiatric hold), although it's unclear if that's exactly what happened.

Patients under a 5150 are typically handcuffed to a stretcher when taken in.

Concern about 'Ye's mental health arose after a series of rants during his Saint Pablo tour stops, and then the cancellation of the North American leg of the tour.

Update:

Jim Jones has reacted to having his name dragged into this mess.
