Kanye West Says He Was Never A Backpack Rapper, Disses Talib Kweli Again

When Kanye West broke onto the scene with his College Dropout album, he was considered a backpack rapper by many but on Drink Champs he said that label was never fitting.

“So you saying you not from that?” N.O.R.E asked him.

"Not at all I was using [that type of music to be successful]," Kanye replied. "I apologize once again to Kweli. I’m sorry ... I never f*cked with your raps ... Now I’m really gone have to fight this man. There’s gone be ten n*ggas with fitted caps from 12 years ago chasing me.”

In the first part of Ye's Drink Champs interview, he blasted Kweli for criticizing his support of Donald Trump, while dissing the fitted hats he often wears. Ye also said that Common was a far better rapper than Kweli during that interview.
