Did Kanye West Just Leave Jay Z's Roc Nation?

by HHL Editors

According to the usually reliable industry website Hits Daily Double, Kanye West is no longer using Roc Nation for management. They posted the news of West's separation from Jay Z's agency in a gossip column that also referenced the struggles at Hov's TIDAL streaming service.

On a related topic, why is Roc Nation’s Rihanna’s 'American Oxygen' not exploding at retail? The track sold a meager 7k last week. Is it possible the botched Tidal launch put that big a stink on the record? But the Rihanna-Tidal relationship is pressing on, according to a recent rumor, which has the struggling service getting a window of exclusivity on her forthcoming album, tentatively titled R8. In other action, Kanye West has left Roc Nation for management, inside sources say.
Roc Nation only manages Kanye, so this wouldn't affect his record label GOOD Music and their relationship with Def Jam.

Last month, West caused a stir by removing all the references to TIDAL from his Twitter account. He's also been palling around lately with Jay's rival and old business partner Damon Dash. We wonder if any of that has to do with this reported split.

Update: A source close to 'Ye denies HDD's report.
