Kanye West was recently named the top gospel artist of 2021 by Billboard but Alabama gospel artist Pastor Mike Jr. said he's undeserving.
"Kanye West isn’t a Gospel Artist. He’s a rapper who did a gospel album," wrote Mike after The Shade Room shared the news. "Ye is an inspiration musically PERIOD. So many people are afraid to speak truth for fear of being cancelled! Something about this doesn’t feel right, and I believe we have to speak up. As cool as the Donda listening party was it felt so demonic. So NAH."
Pastor Mike Jr. might be referring to Ye bringing out Marilyn Manson at one of his DONDA listening events since the disgraced rocker has always used demonic imagery. Manson was also accused of sexual, physical and emotional abuse by several women.
