Just Blaze worked with Eminem for the first time on Recovery. He ended up doing four songs on the album, including 'Cold Wind Blows' and the Lil Wayne-assisted 'No Love.' However, as the producer explained during a panel discussion at SXSW, he thought he blew it with Shady during the recording process.

At around the 1:15 mark of the video below is when Just Blaze begins to tell his story. He talks about how he told Em that he was drifting off subject in the second verse of one of the track's they were working on and his flow in the third was off. (Blaze doesn't reveal which Recovery song he was referring to.)

Eminem didn't see it that way. "I don't hear that, dog," he told Just.

In Just Blaze's mind, he thought he messed up his money and the opportunity to work on Recovery. Hours later, Em called him and said that after he listened to the song 30 times, he finally heard what Just was talking about. Eminem also thanked him, because he said he doesn't get much frank feedback like that.
