Kourtney Kardashian is the Kardashian-Jenner sister who doesn't date rappers. At least not yet.
So it was on brand when a rumor started that she was hooking up with John Mayer, who straddles the pop, rock, blues, and folk genres.
On Andy Cohen's show, Mayer said the rumor isn't true and suggested Kourtney or her famous family started it:
“I gotta be honest with you. Little suspicious about the origin of the story,” Mayer said. “Not sure the call's not coming from inside the house on this one.”
“I will say, if the call is coming from inside the house, it's diabolical and genius. Because when people start gossiping about you and someone else, and they put your picture together, it gets real suggestive. You're like, ‘Well, if I do [date her], then everything falls into place because they're already putting us together.’”
Mayer added that he generally likes the Kardashian Klan but also has a healthy fear of family matriarch Kris.
“ I’m also a little afraid of her … she’s kind of a Suge Knight character. I used to share a studio with Suge Knight and my rule about Suge Knight was, ‘Don’t let him notice you.' I don't want to be noticed by Kris Kardashian too much. I want a nice, base level of respect, and I don't want to be too far on her radar. It's hard to explain. She could end me."
