Joe Budden Says Azealia Banks was supposed to Be A Host On 'State Of the Culture'

by Daryl Nelson

Azealia Banks is more known for her antics than she is music.

She's beefed with half of Hip Hop, for example, including getting into it with Vince Staples a while back. Banks has gotten into more than one altercation on an airplane too.

So some might be surprised to learn that she was being considered for Revolt's State of the Culture. It's now hosted by Joe Budden, Remy Ma, Brandon "Jinx" Jenkins  and Eboni K. Williams, who replaced Scottie Beam some time ago.

"The original idea was two," said Budden when the State of the Culture hosts stopped by The Breakfast Club recently. "At one point, it was Azealia Banks. In theory, what an amazing idea. I wonder how long that would have lasted. That's what I wanted to create. Something that you would say, 'How long is that gonna last?' That didn't pan out for whatever reason. So then we said, alright, we need three. And then when we were screen-testing the three."

It was eventually decided that a fourth person was needed for the show.

What do you think a show hosted just by Budden and Banks would have been like?
