Yesterday, Migos dropped a snippet from a track that will be on The Quality Control group mixtape Control The Streets Vol. 1, which drops tonight.
In it, they come for Joe Budden in Quavo's bars and a Takeoff's adlib.
“If a nigga hating call him Joe Budden (pussy!)."
Budden responded almost immediately on Twitter, and this morning he was more than happy to discuss the snippet on his show Everyday Struggle.
But before he got to that, DJ Akademiks opined that Migos and Quality Control released the snippet to hype up Control The Streets Vol. 1, which had been overlooked to date.
"With Quavo dissing you, they got the noise the wanted," Ak said.
Then Budden discussed his issues with Migos. He argued it was "inherited beef" which stems from his attacks on other young mumble rappers, but not Migos specifically. However, Ak and Nedeska pushed back on that, saying they remember specific times Joe attacked Migos.
Ultimately, Joe took the diss as a compliment, stating it just proves that attacking him is good for business.
"I do think these gentlemen are calculated. I do think that somebody over there recognizes I've had a pretty decent year. This is attention seeking," Budden explains. "I just want to be very clear that "Mr. Irrelevant" himself has somehow found himself in a space where people I deem to be superstars are now using me and my platform to spread awareness." He goes on, stating "I have never heard Quavious more audible and clear than that line ... He gon' mumble every damn thing and then want to sound like Mr. college Harvard Lil Pump professor man when it get to the diss?"
"Listen Quavo, I'm not gonna spend to much time on this. I appreciate the shout out. Pee, Coach K, I have no issue with any of you gentlemen over there. I think ya'll move the culture forward, I want ya'll to continue to do that however the fuck you can. You feed a lot of people. Mumble, young man, mumble."
