Rumors of a Jay Z and Rihanna dalliance have been around forever.

According to the book, in 2005 Rinanna's publicist Jonathan Hay concocted the Hov-RiRi rumors to hype the then-17-year-old first single 'Pon de Replay.' Jay Z was 35 at the time.

Beyonce, who was dating Jay Z, didn't know what to make of the talk. So her and Hov secretly split for about a year. They then got back together, and were married in 2008.

The Jay Z-Rihanna-Beyonce triangle came to a head again last year during the infamous elevator incident. Taraborrell confirms that Beyonce's sister Solange became furious that Jay Z was going to stay out and party with Rihanna, and started wailing on him for opening that old wound.
