Jay Rock Says That Black Hippy Music Is Coming Soon

by Daryl Nelson

Now that Kendrick Lamar is no longer signed to TDE and has his pgLang label, it's safe to say that many have given up hope on a Black Hippy album.

But the supergroup, made up of Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q, will have some songs coming at the beginning of 2024, according to Jay.

"I can tell you this: I know we are doing a compilation album, TDE for 20 years," he told the Associated Press. "It’s been 20 years since TDE been in the game ... So, we are putting together a compilation album. So, we should be dropping that at the top of the year ... I don’t know how many songs we’re gonna put on there ... We got a majority of Black Hippy on that thing, you feel me? So, make sure you check it out."

The last time there was talk of Black Hippy music was in March of this year when TDE founder Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith said the group owes their fans an album.
