Jay Electronica Explains Album Delay After Jay Z Calls Him Out

by Daryl Nelson

Jay Z called out Jay Electronica for not dropping an album during NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans.

"Let's go put the album out," said Hov, after Electronica called him to the stage.
People have been waiting for the "Exhibit C" creator to drop his album for years, and expectations ramped up when  he signed to Hov's Roc Nation in 2010.

During an interview at this year's Bud Light Crew HQ event, Electronica talked about the album delay and his extremely loyal fan base.

"It's just humbling after all these years that anybody still has any interest in what I'm doing," he said. "You can't name another person that people have waited this long, almost a decade. As far as an album, I would like to put out an album myself. Nobody in the world wants a Jay Electronica album out more than I do. I release music in my own time."
Afterwards, Jay said he'll finish songs, but then over time he'll be in another place creatively and wants to change them.

Do you think we'll ever get to hear a Jay Electronica album? Plus, how long do you think people will still care?
