Jaden Smith's Blue Ocean V19 Is Long And Strange. Is It Good?

We just listened to all of seven minutes Jaden's Smith's Blue Ocean V19, which has been lighting up social media over the last 24 hours. It's an epic, genre bending musical tale, built on a Justin Timberlake sample, about love at the  Coachella musical festival. It includes backing vocals from sister Willow.

Smith is known for his bonkers tweets, and his parting lyric -- "Everybody knows I'm a ghost but I can still dream" -- would be right at home with his bizarre social media output.

Will Smith's progeny also proves in Blue Ocean V19 that he is comfortable expressing himself singing, rapping and, at times, just shouting. It's all a bit emo for our taste. But we have to admit it's interesting, and the 16-year old has certainly put a lot of effort into it.

Besides  the Kendall Jenner stuff, Jaden is probably best known for sinking his father's thought-to-be unsinkable movie career with his wooden performance in 'After Earth.' It's not saying much, but maybe he should have followed pops into the music industry.

What do you think of Blue Ocean V19?
