J. Cole has been hopping on a lot of people's records lately, like Lil Durk's "All My Life," Gucci Mane's "There I Go," and  Drake's "First Person Shooter."

He spoke about that song being his first number one while on Lil Yachty‘s A Safe Place podcast, and how he wishes that his first chart topper wasn't "off a Drake alley-oop."

Then in that same interview, the North Carolina rhymer spoke about all those features he's been doing and why he doesn't charge artists.

"Yo, bro, it's just a bar, bro," Cole explained. "Like, a lot of my bars be really on point but that's just a flex. I'm not gonna charge a n*gga $2,000 a word. I don't even charge a n*gga for the verse. I'm doing this sh*t because I'm inspired to do it ... I'm not charging n*ggas because, you know, I want to be on the song. I wouldn't do that."

Does this shock you?
