Hundreds Gather at Nipsey Hussle's Clothing Store To Mourn His Death

by Daryl Nelson

Hundreds of fans gathered near Nipsey Hussle's Marathon Clothing shop in Los Angeles to mourn his death and celebrate his life.

The rapper was killed on Sunday afternoon outside of that clothing store and died later at a nearby hospital. Police have yet to find the suspect, who reportedly sped off in a vehicle afterward.

It’s just after 9pm PT, crowds are growing. @NipseyHussle music playing loud. A big party is surrounding the whole intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw. #NipseyHussle @NBCLA @RickNBCLA pic.twitter.com/iSJQIP3koR

Mourners first gathered close to the shop, because the parking lot was closed due to the active crime scene. But once it opened up at about 9:00 p.m. people gathered, played Nipsey's music, held handmade signs and burned candles. YG also showed up to honor the slain rapper.

You can see the crowds in the videos above and below.

The parking lot of @NipseyHussle’s store, The Marathon, is still an active crime scene. This is as close as mourners can get. The crowd is growing out here in Hyde Park. @RickNBCLA @NBCLA #NipseyHussle pic.twitter.com/rDU69r9tvd
