Bad Boy rapper Craig Mack died yesterday at his home in Walterboro, South Carolina of heart failure.
He was 46.
Mack's big hit was 1994's, "Flava In Your Ear" off of his debut album Project: Funk da World. The remix featured Biggie Smalls, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Rampage and is one of the iconic tracks of the 90s.
Mack's follow up album, 1997's Project: Funk da World, wasn't successful. After that, the Queens-born, Long Island-raised Mack moved to South Carolina and became an evangelical Christian. He declined to be a part of the recent Bad Boy reunion tour because of his religious beliefs.

RIP Craig Mack. His “Flava In Ya Ear” was Bad Boy’s first hit and it was a monster. It dominated 1994. Mack’s lisp added something ineffable and ill to the record. Made it a little more messy and more raw and more hiphop.
