Richard Morales, Jr (aka Gunplay) came up in the game with Rick Ross, joining his group Triple C's in 2005. The Miami emcee later become an artist on Ross's MMG label, appearing prominently as a feature and droping mixtapes. But the 35-year old has yet to release a solo album. This may be in part because of his violent moniker, which becomes more controversial considering Morales' criminal history.

Anyway, as of January 1, Gunplay will no longer be Gunplay. He announced his name change to Don Logan in a tweet.

Gunplay's -- we mean Logan's -- solo debut album Living Legend has been percolating for years, and seems to be set for a 2015 release. Do you think his new name will make him more palatable to radio and the masses, and take his career to the next level?
