These Things Happen was merely anticipating what fame would be like, but When It's Dark Out is the result of diving deep into it. Because of that, G-Eazy doesn't always come off as the happiest fellow. For instance, 'Me, Myself & I' tackle his issues with not having a moment to himself. "Sad Boy" questions why he's feeling blue when this is what he wanted.
