Funk Flex Says That Drake Lied About His 2009 Hot 97 "Blackberry" Freestyle

by Daryl Nelson

Drake was heavily criticized in 2009 for rhyming off a BlackBerry on Funk Flex's Hot 97 show.

But Flex said the OVO rapper didn't need to read his rhymes, because he already knew them. Flex also claimed that Drake never wrote those words and just pretended to.

"You know that freestyle where Drake's reading off the Blackberry? Imma tell you a story that I never told nobody. Me and Drake, we practiced that verse in the room already," said Flex on Million Dollaz Worth of Game. "He didn't need the Blackberry because we practiced in the room with no Blackberry. So when the camera came out, he pulled out the Blackberry. You wanna know why? Because as a rapper, if you look at a guy with a Blackberry you go, oh, he must have wrote those words ... He didn't write those freestyle rhymes on my show. I knew he didn't write it."

He also said if Drake wasn't tied to ghostwriters, he'd be the GOAT.

"If those reference tracks did not come out, Drake was the no. 1 rapper of all time," Flex said. "He's too versatile, his melodies, he has the bars, and he had the songs."

Do you believe Flex or does he have something against Drake? If you remember, the New York DJ has been dissing Drake for years.
