It's a good thing that French Montana's song 'Unforgettable' with Swae Lee is a huge smash, because he paid $600,000 for the sample and video.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club, the Coke Boy rapper said he initially thought he'd get some of that money back from his record label Bad Boy, but that wasn't the case.

"I had to pay $300,000 out of my own pocket [for the sample]. Not the label. Out of my own pocket," he said. "Then go to the label and the label's like 'We can only give you half of that. We never heard about paying $300,000.' That's what you call believing in the record."
French also said it costs a cool $300,000 to shoot the video for the song, which has since gone platinum several times. Plus, the cut has brought more attention the rapper's latest album Jungle Rules.

So why would the Bronx spitter spend all of that money for just one single?

"That's what separates certain artists," he explained. "I feel like if I waited for anything in my life, I wouldn't be French Montana. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands."
What do you think about French paying all of that money for the 'Unforgettable' sample and video?
