Freddie Gibbs Survives Gunshots After Show In Brooklyn

By HHL Editors

After performing a show at Rough Trade in Williamsburg, New York last night, Freddie Gibbs was hanging out in his black GMC Denali with some of his crew.

At 1:13 AM shots were fired into the vehicle. The bullets missed Gibbs, but one passenger was hit in the leg and another in the hand.

Speaking to the New York Post just after the incident, Gibbs said he was the intended target of the gunman.

"They tried to kill Tupac," he told the tabloid. "They tried to kill me. I’m still alive."

According to police, who viewed security footage of the show, the gunman had been in the venue and had been trying to blend in with Gibbs' crew. Since Rough Trade doesn't have metal detectors he could have shot Gibbs then. Gibbs was shown a photo of the gunman, but didn't recognize him.

"He [the shooter] was standing around you guys all night,” an investigator told Gibbs. "He was stalking you guys. We can tell on camera, he wanted it to look like he knew you, but it’s clear he didn't. When you guys left, he was waiting for you outside."

The gunshot victims were were transported to Bellevue Hospital. They are in stable condition and are expected to survive their wounds.

So far, no arrests.

Who do you think would want to snuff out Gibbs?
