Floyd Mayweather Almost Signed Future & Young Thug To His TMT Label

by HHL Editors

Earlier this year, Floyd Mayweather announced he was starting a record label, the TMT Music Group.

So far he doesn't have any high profile artists on TMT.

But in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Money revealed that he's been plotting a label for some time, and that both Future and Young Thug almost signed with him.

"Future will tell you this. Future was supposed to be my artist first," he told the Hollywood Unlocked. "Young Thug was supposed to be my artist first. Things happen…"
Although Future didn't end up signing with him, Mayweather says he has been helping him develop some of his young TMT artists.

As for Young Thug ... he was recently photographed in the studio with the boxing champ.

Although Mayweather obviously values Future as an artist and a friend, the 39 year old also admits he doesn't always understand what he (and Thugger) are saying.

"Future is a very, very good artist," he told Hollywood unlocked. "I told Future one day. I was like, 'Sometimes, when I hear you guys, sometimes on the music, I don’t understand what you’re saying.' He said, 'Floyd, it’s the melody.' And I said, 'You know what? You have beautiful melody.'"
