The 15-year old daughter of ex-NBA player Corey Benjamin was caught sucker punching two different opponents during games last month.

She has been suspended from playing and Benjamin, who averaged 5.5 over his four years in the league, apologized for her actions.

"This is not how I raised my daughter," a statement from Benjamin said. "To the young lady who was punched by my daughter during a youth basketball game, I sincerely apologize to you and I am praying for your complete healing both physically and emotionally. To her family, I deeply apologize and regret that this happened to your daughter as she did not deserve this to happen to her. Finally, I apologize to all of those who have been impacted and hurt by the actions of my daughter as well as those of her mother," he said.

There is a reason he brought up his daughter's mother.

Today,  44-year old Latira Shonty Hunt was arrested for instigating the punch.

According to Orange County, California District Attorney Todd Spitzer, Hunt was caught on a cellphone video yelling at her daughter to hit one of her victims. “You better hit her for that," Mom yelled after her daughter got tangled up with her victim on an earlier pay.

“In my opinion it would have not happened, but for mom's words,” Spitzer said of the attack.

Hunt has been charged with  contributing to the delinquency of a minor and battery and faces up to a year in jail.
