Last month, ESPN decided not to punish Jemele Hill for Tweets in which she called President Trump a white supremacist.
However, they warned the SportsCenter host that she needed to keep her controversial political opinions off of social media
They are now suspending Hill for two weeks after tweets in which she suggests people should boycott advertisers of the NFL owners who have begun threatening to penalize players for kneeling during the national anthem. In her Tweets, she mentions the Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones and the Miami Dolphins' Stephen Ross as such owners.
“Jemele Hill has been suspended for two weeks for a second violation of our social media guidelines,” the network said in a statement. “She previously acknowledged letting her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet. In the aftermath, all employees were reminded of how individual tweets may reflect negatively on ESPN and that such actions would have consequences.
