Empire had one highest-rated debuts of the last few years. Then it got even more eyeballs in its second week, making it the only new drama in the past year to pull that off.

Thanks to the show's good ratings and a whole lot of social media buzz, Fox has renewed the Hip Hop drama for another season. It is fairly unusual for a network to re-up a series after only two episode.

Last week, we learned that Foxy Brown and Snoop Dogg will both appear on upcoming episodes of Empire. Now that it's guaranteed a second season, expect to hear about more high profile guests from the Hip Hop world.
