Eminem's former Artist Obie Trice Is Going to Jail

by Daryl Nelson

"Obie Trice, real name no gimmicks."

That line was first uttered by Obie Trice on his single "Rap Name." It then appeared  on Eminem's 2002 single "Without Me" as an intro.

Those seem to be far better times for Mr. Trice, much different from what he's currently going through.

WDIV Local 4 reports that he's been sentenced to 90 days in Michigan's Oakland County Jail after pleading guilty to possession of an unregistered gun last month. He was credited for five days served at a hearing that was on Wednesday, July 8.

Trice was arrested in December 2019 after his shot the 18-year-old son of his girlfriend in the leg inside the rapper's home in Commerce Township, Michigan.

As far as Trice's career, he left Em's Shady Records in 2008 and dropped a handful of projects since then. He released a song earlier this year where he dissed Nick Cannon, who's had a long-running feud with Em.
