The initial first-week projections for Eminem's surprise album Kamikaze were a little north of 200K.
But it got great word of mouth, created all sorts of beef buzz, and ended up doing a surprising 411,000 SPS with 250K in traditional albums -- all without preorders or physical copies.
It's the fourth biggest opening of the year, after Drake's Scorpion with 732K, Travis Scott's Astroworld with 537K and Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys with 461K. (Needless to say, Kamikaze will finish this week number 1.)
It also smashes the first week total of Eminem's last album Revival, which put up 267K last December.
We guess it's safe to say Shady is back.
