Eminem Explains To Mike Tyson What Went Terribly Wrong During His Oscar Performance

by HHL JT

The big surprise of this year's Oscar's was that Eminem performed his 2002 cut "Lose Yourself."

It was a song that Em won Best Original Song for at the 2003 Oscars, but he didn't show up at the ceremony to accept the trophy.

While the performance looked good to the viewer, Em explained why it felt like a disaster at the time.

"When I went out there, everything was cool, I go through the first verse and you know they have a mic pack on your belt, and you have the in-ears, so you can hear the sound.  And I'm rapping, and all the sudden I see between my legs, my motherf*cking pack swinging.  So I try to grab that sh!t.  I don't know what they showed on TV. But then I try stick it in my pocket, but, man, I have no pocket. So I'm rapping the lyrics when I'm doing this.  By that time, the song’s over and I’m like ‘what the f*ck.  We rehearsed that sh*t extra, extra so we didn't f*ck it up.  And that was the one thing we didn't plan for."

Tyson and company then assured Em it was a good show, despite the snafu.
