E-40 Explains How He Put 'New Life' Into The West Coast

by Daryl Nelson

E-40 has done a good job of creating other revenue streams for himself outside of music, like his Goon With The Spoon Rich & Creamy Ice Cream that he announced earlier this year.

On the music side, it could be said the man born Earl Stevens did a lot for West Coast rap.

He definitely sees it that way and told The New York Times that he helped revive the Coast.

"Imagine if there was streaming back then when we had ‘Tell Me When to Go,’ ‘Bitch,’ ‘Choices.’ We would be diamond on each one of those records," E-40 explained. "I put new life into the West Coast in 2006 and that’s no ifs, ands, or buts. Can’t nobody say I didn’t — with the help of Lil Jon. And it’s never stopped since then.”
