Drake Responds To Accusation That The Weeknd Wrote Most Of 'Take Care' For Him

Yesterday (Nov. 15) marked the six-year anniversary of Drake’s Take Care LP, and the OVO boss posted an old photo of himself looking at the album’s tracklist.

While a lot of folks shared the pic and praised Take Care, one person did the opposite and said The Weeknd actually wrote most of it. It’s something that seemed to annoy Drake and he responded.

It’s possible the person who made the accusation about The Weeknd writing most of Drake’s debut read a 2013 interview with Complex that the singer did in which he implied he might have.

“House of Balloons was actually supposed to have more songs than it does,” said The Weeknd. “I had so many records left, and then Take Care came through. ‘Crew Love,’ ‘Shot for Me’ and ‘The Rise’ were supposed to be on House of Balloons. I wanted to come out with like 14 records. I felt like ‘The Ride’ was the last one, and it wasn’t done yet. [Drake] heard it and he was like, ‘This shit’s crazy.’”

On another note, would you consider Take Care a classic?
