Drake Calls Yasiin Bey A Crackhead For Saying He's Pop And Not Hip Hop

by Daryl Nelson

If there's one thing that's clear, Drake was hurt by Yasiin Bey saying that his music is pop and compatible with shopping.

He responded earlier this week by posting an old interview of Method Man explaining Hip Hop culture.

That led to Drake calling Bey a crackhead after Toronto rapper Kofi Carmichael told a long, gossipy story about Bey's former marriage.

In short, Carmichael said the Black Star rapper was high on ecstasy in 2005 and got married to a girl in Toronto after knowing her for just a few days.

"I’m not gonna say anything about who the shorty is 'cause I’ma stay respectful, but he met a shorty out here and she wrapped his mind up," said Carmichael . "And then before you knew it, right to City Hall ... We remember you when you were back here in Toronto, moving like a simp. Eyes all pupiled up, dilated. Toronto mans don’t rate you like that, fam."

He continued. "The n*ggas who knew, the n*ggas like me who have memory and remember those times, we don’t rate you like that, fam. We look at you different from them times."

Drake eventually commented under the podcast post and wrote "Bohemian Bucket," Bucket meaning crackhead.

Do you think Bey — who's from Brooklyn — cares about not being respected by some in Toronto like Carmichael says?
