Drake has a reputation of being on the soft side for a rapper.

Allegedly, his bodyguard Chubbs makes up for it.

In a new lawsuit, producer Detail claims that in 2014 Drake made him an offer to become his exclusive producer.

Detail -- who has produced hits for Lil Wayne, Beyonce and Wiz Khalifa -- declined because he didn't want to be tied to just one artist.

Detail said that Drake was angered by the rejection. But he still agreed to come to Drake's Calabasas estate a few months later, figuring the bad feelings had passed.

He showed up at 2 AM under the expectation he would be working on a track.

But instead he was attacked by Drake's bodyguard Chubbs

According to TMZ, during the beating Chubbs yelled, "I will beat all your asses, including your bitches. I don't give a fuck. I will hit you again. Do you think Drake is soft? You think Drake's a punk?"

Detail says he suffered a broken jaw in the attack.

Expect the lawsuit to be for many millions of dollars.
