Dr. Dre Is The Highest Paid Musician In The World For 2014

by HHL Editors

We already knew that Dr. Dre brought in more cash than anybody in the rap game in 2014. We've just learned from wealth counters Forbes that Dre was also the world's best paid musician in any genre over the calender year.

According to the magazine, the good doctor made $620 million in 2014 pre-tax dollars. Almost all of this came from his sale of Beats Audio to Apple, because it sure as hell didn't come from Detox.

The $505 million difference between Dre and the second place musician on the list, Beyonce, is the biggest margin since Forbes began tracking the music industry.

Beyonce's $115 million comes from touring, her surprise album, and endorsements.

No other Hip Hop figures were in the top ten, which included the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Paul McCartney and Justin Bieber.

Jay-Z and the Puffy The Champagne Papi Slayer tied for 12th place with $60 million each in earnings. Peek the whole list here.
