Donald Trump Says Kanye West is Helping The Black Community By Supporting Him

by Daryl Nelson

For the past few days, Kanye West has been showing a lot of love to Donald Trump and has angered a lot of people in the process.

Now Trump is giving some of that love back. In a Tweet this morning, he thanked Ye for opening black people's eyes to the Trump administration and for his work to help the African American community.

Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community - Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades - Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history).

Trump could be talking about a new initiative that West is starting called Donda Social, where he and other rappers will visit Chicago neighborhoods to help with gun violence, housing, education and poor drinking water. Reportedly, Ye has tapped Vic Mensa, Common, and Chance The Rapper to help. (Trump also mentioned Chance in his tweet.)

Earlier this week, Ye called out Barack Obama and claimed that he didn't do anything to help Chicago during his eight-year term.

Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed.
