Does JAY-Z Really Own Kanye West's Masters?

During one of his most recent rants, Kanye said that JAY-Z owns his masters and is taking his money.

Given that his early career is tied to  Roc-A-Fella Records, it wouldn't be the most unlikely of scenarios.

However, according to Charlamagne, it's simply not true.

Charlamagne says a reliable source told him Jay Z doesn’t own Ye’s catalogue.

"That's not true. JAY-Z does not own Kanye West's catalog at all," CTG explained.  "I heard it from a very reliable source ... Kanye is just playing the victim and looking for sympathy."
