It looks like someone is trying to set DMX up, and that someone may have horns and a pitchfork. The "Crime Story" rapper was accused of robbing a man at a Newark gas station earlier this week, despite claims from X's lawyer that all that went down was an argument between the two.
But the Internet doesn't care about that. So of course following the news social media immediately lit up with memes, jokes and actual outcrys for help for the sometimes troubled rapper. While that's all well and good, DMX wants us to know that while the Devil may be busy, God has his back and he has no reason to rob anyone. He channels a Kanye-esque quote in his defense, stating that "the harder the devil works at trying to destroy me, it's because I'm special to God."
He goes on to say:
"I have no idea what [the robbery accusation is] about. It comes with the territory... It's not the first thing I've been accused of that I didn't do," he said. "If I did it, you'd have known about it, but I wouldn't be able to travel as freely as I do, if I did it. My lawyer assured me there's nothing to worry about."According to X, it was like just any other trip to a Jersey gas station where a rapper gets accused of armed robbery.
"We stopped at a gas station. I don't recall any incident happening. I make way more than that during a show, so why would I want that kind of trouble for myself?"How much are you guys paying for DMX concert tickets?
A) Enough that he don't need to resort to this.
B) I'm not buying tickets to a damn DMX show, so he gotta do what he go do.
