DMX Owes More In Taxes

by HHL JT

DMX served almost a year between 2018 and 2019 for failing to report close to $2 million in income to the IRS.

He's still in trouble with the taxman.

This week, the state of New York filed a tax warrant against Earl Simmons for $224,845.28.

X's attorney Murray Richman says it's old news.

"That's a state warrant arising out of the old case. DMX had been charged with a federal warrant years ago. This is the same case, but this is the state aspect of that warrant, that's all. It's not something new, it's not for new acts at all," Richman explained. "We're working on resolving it," the attorney continues. "We will, of course, eventually resolve it, which we've done in the past because we resolved the IRS situation. We'll work out a payment schedule, work out a real number and we'll be there. Earl is not trying to avoid his responsibilities."

X ended paying back $2.3 million to the Feds.

He's working on a new album, and that could help him set things straight with New York.
