DJ Khaled's Enormous Budget for "Father of Asahd" Revealed

by HHL JT

DJ Khaled famously threw a fit when he learned that Tyler, The Creator's album IGOR beat his effort, Father Of Asahd, in first week sales.

Khaled was pissed that some of his bundles -- which included an energy drink, of all things -- didn't count while all of Tyler's did.

Also weighing on Khaled, according to Variety, was that he spent an awful lot of money on the album.

Another issue is the $5 million sources say Epic spent to record and market Khaled’s album.

Why was it so costly? One word: features. From Jay-Z to Lil Wayne to Travis Scott and Post Malone, SZA, John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle, to name a few, such guest appearances don’t come cheap — and Khaled presumably expected to get what he (or, more likely, Epic) paid for.

So we guess Khaled's hard-to-pin-down talent is getting his label to pay for features.
