DJ Khaled Explains How He Couldn't Pay Bills & Almost Lost His Mansion

by Daryl Nelson

From the outside looking in, DJ Khaled had major success in 2015, but in actuality he was struggling big time.

He talked about it with Rolling Stone, admitting that he nearly lost his mansion after putting money into his label We the Best Music Group.

Khaled was renting his mansion at the time as well, and he just couldn't keep up with his bills.

“I remember I had like a month to come up with this [large] amount of money. I kept saying, ‘There’s no way in the world that we worked this much this far and we don’t have nothing to show for it.’ I changed that right away,”he explained. “I was like, ‘Yo, if I want a family, I got to get my sh*t right.’ And I gambled on myself. I always bet on myself from day one. But I tripled down that day.”

Are you surprised to learn that Khaled was having money problems back then?
