DJ Akademiks Suggests Drake & 21 Savage Suddenly Delayed Album To Avoi

Last night, Drake and 21 Savage announced that they were pushing back their Her Loss album, which was supposed to drop tonight, to next week.

The stated reason for the delay was that Drake's producer and main man Noah "40" Shebib got COVID and couldn't complete the mixing and mastering on time.

Not long after the announcement, DJ Akademiks dropped this Tweet.

"Labels start hitting up these lil rap artists like.. hold up.. taylor swift selling 1.5 mil this week.. she finna sell at least 500K next week. How bout yall all make an excuse and drop like a Month out from now to avoid big bad Taylor. They wont tell u.. but i will," Ak typed.

Judging from recent Hip Hop first weeks, Drake and Savage are unlikely to put up the 500K Taylor is projected to do next week.

Is finishing second to an album in its second week the real reason Drake and 21 pushed the album back?
