DJ Akademiks Reveals Freddie Gibbs's Law Enforcement Ties

Freddie Gibbs and DJ Akademiks are in the middle of a major beef, with Freddie recently threatening to take the podcaster's life.

Ak responded by calling the Indiana-raised rapper a fake gangster, which he said again on his  Off the Record podcast. Ak also made another claim about Gibbs:  [Jump to the 3:21-mark]

"His father is a police officer," said Akademiks. “Now I just want to paint the irony of this whole thing. A kid who grew up playing with his father’s badge, handcuffs, police uniform, and gun and also took allowance that came from his father’s police salary … went to a f*cking studio to make up a fake persona of being some type of gangster."

Ak then went on to claim that Gibbs created his gangster image because he was fascinated with the kind of criminals his father would arrest as a child.
