DJ Akademiks Goes Nuts On Joe Budden; Reveals His Outrageous Complex Salary Demand

by HHL JT

DJ Akademiks and Joe Budden have been jostling back and forth about Budden's high profile exit from Complex and Everyday Struggle a couple of years back.

According to Ak, he was willing to take a pay cut to keep Joe on but was shocked to learn that Budden demanded to management that he would have final say on Ak's salary.

In his latest rant, Ak said that Budden's new show State of The Culture is still lagging Everyday Struggle.

"We do four shows a week.  They do one show a week. I'm pretty sure Joe probably gets ninety five percent of the bread," AK said of State Of The Culture. "That's all he ever wanted. Great for him, but view-wise? You can say Everyday Struggle ain't what it was in terms of cultural impact when Joe was there, but is anybody talking about State Of The Culture?

Then he went in on Joe some more and revealed what Joe had asked Complex for him to stay on Everyday Struggle.

I'm trying to tell you to tame that ego," continues Ak. "Because I've let ego get the best of me at times. I've said certain shit. I've disrespected whatever.  Just chill out bro. I'm not upset at what your doing, I love what you're doing...It's dope! I want to get in the podcast game, either this year, or next year, it's never no hate. But when you try to position me not getting down with ya'll.  It's like you wanted me to be your son, I'm not nobody's son in this shit. All niggas, ya'll n***as are starting to realize the benefit of a platform ... I hear Joe talking ownership like he's the first one.  But you ain't get no leeway until Everyday Struggle ... I find it offensive that you would throw me to the wolves like that. In the aftermath of Complex, if I said what I heard you asked them ... everybody would say 'this n*gga is nuts.' I heard you asked for three percent of the company.  The company is worth like $300 to $500 million.
