Destroy Lonely & Ken Carson Explain Why Pharrell's 'Happy' Is The Worst Song Of All Time

by Daryl Nelson

Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson are rappers signed to Playboi Carti’s label Opium.

Both of them recently sat down with Complex and talked about their intense dislike for Pharrell's 2014 hit "Happy," off the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. [Jump to the 10:14 mark]

"Pharrell is a great person [but] I hate ‘Happy,’” said Carson.

Then Lonely came down on the song.

“Bro, when I was younger when I got up in the morning when I was staying with Grandma, that’s her song to play in the morning,” he said. “I f*cking hate that sh*t. Every time I play it I’m ready to punch somebody in the face."

"Pharrell, you’re great,” Carson said after that. “You got great songs but every artist got a bad song.”

But the two men aren't alone in their hate for the cut. That's because in 2022 someone called it annoying and Pharrell agreed with them.

What are your thoughts on "Happy?"
