Dave Chappelle's 'Drink Champs' Episode Cancelled Because Of Current Events

You weren't imagining things if you thought there was going to be a Dave Chappelle Drink Champs episode

On May 23, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN's drunken talkshow promoted an episode with Dave Chappelle and his frequent collaborators Black Star.

It was supposed to drop on May 27th.

But it never did.

According to an insider, Dave got cold feet and nixed the episode because of current events.

“When Dave does something, it becomes more about Dave,” a source told Page 6, noting that the episode was meant to focus on Black Star’s first album in 24 years, No Fear of Time.

“It came time to run it, and it was right after [mass shootings] in Buffalo and Texas,” our source says. “[Chappelle and his team] just thought it was ill-timed. … They wanted to approve the timing of it and thought, ‘Hold off, slow down. It’s tone-deaf to release something at this time.’”

Drink Champ's never publically addressed the disappearing episode.

The insider said it could air it its entirety at a later date.  Or it could air with Dave's part edited out.
