"Two days after the situation took place, I got a call. I won’t say from who. I got a call from a certain rapper," DaBaby said on Shaquille O’Neal‘s The Big Podcast. "It’s like a lyricist, I’m sure y’all know him if I said his name. 1000 percent y’all know him."

"He shot me a text ... He said, 'All the back-and-forth between J. Cole and Kendrick got me fired up,'" he continued. "I feel like we should diss each other. We cool behind closed doors [but] we should diss each other. I feel like it would just go crazy.'"

But DaBaby turned down the rapper's offer, explaining that he doesn't want to diss someone he's cool with.

Joyner Lucas later posted a message about the interview since many thought he was the lyricist who wanted the fake beef.

"Man why tf everyone in comments saying it’s me? Lol smh Jesus Christ," he wrote on DJ Akademiks' page.

So, if Joyner wasn't the one who contacted DaBaby, then who?
